Lorraine Gardiner is a former staff member who first started working at a small branch at Sawtell Library in 1975 before moving to the Coffs Harbour branch in 1979. Lorraine has many memories to share of working at the Coffs Harbour Library from the 1970’s through to her retirement in 2003. She outlines the changes she saw in the library service when Coffs Harbour separated from Clarence Regional Library as well as the general feeling amongst staff at this monumental change. The introduction of new technology was another topic discussed along with the ensuing changes that it bought to the library service, such as no longer needing a card catalogue but being able to search on a computer!
